In the 1970s there also wasn't the availability for people to rack up obscenes amount of debt via credit cards, etc. People also didn't buy homes in their early 20s.

What an economically inept argument. This doesn’t even touch the fact college tuition inflated due to guaranteed loans by the government Same way they crashed the housing market in 2007. Also absolutely no money theory inflation. This is propaganda at best.
