It’s funny when people lament, “what’s become of the GOP?!” Because they’ve always been shitty vampires, draining society fiscally and socially. They’ve just gone *full* fascist recently, that’s all.

But isn't life so much better now that you have just a few multi-billionaires who are able to buy @POTUS, @SpeakerPelosi, @LeaderMcConnell etc thus ensuring a much more focused and streamline agenda in Congress vs having to try to balance the needs of Americans with corporations?

True ... Unions and government workers were belittled and condemned ... It was believed that Employers would take care of their workers and you didn't need unions anymore ... this wasn't true ... and this began the downward trajectory of the middle class and it continues today!

I find myself solidly in middle class, finally. It irritates the heck out of me, that I have to give some of my hard-earned money to the government to mismanage. If it were going for infrastructure, or the public good, I would feel differently, but MY money is being wasted.

Actually, few believed in “trickle down,”. Knowing it really meant screwed up.
Together with the destruction of workers unions the middle class didn't stand a chance.
