Hasn’t that always been the message? That’s the problem - right wing and religious propaganda has convinced us that we deserve to be poor and that it’s not the government’s job to help its people.

Whats astonishing to every non American onlooker is how indoctrinated the American poor/working class and the struggling lower middle class are to 'feel' bad about getting scraps from THEIR government yet nothing about the rich grabbing every tax break and bailout for themselves
