When leaders are elevated, capitalism does its best to make them sell out. But instead of getting mad when we see someone sell out, and expecting better from the next leader, we need to elevate the whole movement, make the movement the leader instead of individuals.

Agreed! I think long term the task of moving beyond our current ideas of leadership is crucial to making the world we want, but until then we certainly need to protect, and support those who don’t sell out.
