I’m trying to think of a species that systematically destroys its own habitat, fails to care for and nourish its young, acts in total contradiction to the natural world - yet continues to survive and thrive. So far I haven’t been able to come up with one.

But surviving and thriving is a myth...someone has to bear the cost. I guess people just don't care it's others who have to bear the cost, as long as it's not them. What they don't understand is that they too are paying a cost - they just don't know in what ways.

Maybe the species you speak of shouldn't choose blue leaders who r the same as the red ones. Honestly it doesn't matter at this point. So many believe in the lesser of 2 evils to give Trump a 1 up on being worse. "Biden got us in 10 wars" Response: "But Trump would get us in 11"

Destroy is the operative word here. We are not animals though act worse than most by not helping one and other. It’s sad.
