I’m trying to think of a species that systematically destroys its own habitat, fails to care for and nourish its young, acts in total contradiction to the natural world - yet continues to survive and thrive. So far I haven’t been able to come up with one.

Yup. And trying to reform the system that allowed, encouraged and REQUIRES these things to flourish is a fool's errand. It must be abolished & replaced.

If a species continues to survive and thrive, it suggests that the species is not being self-destructive according to nature. Whose opinion has greater validity, yours or nature's?

Check out the Cow Bird. The lazy thing deposits her eggs in Orioles nests, and it just takes one to crowd out the Oriole babies. No redeeming virtues at all, but some evolutionary advantages.

I just read this disturbing article about #LeaernedHelplessness. “According to the APA, learned helplessness occurs when someone repeatedly faces uncontrollable, stressful situations, then does not exercise control when it becomes available.” medicalnewstoday.com/article…

I don’t think you will come up with one. As you said, all mammals do you care for their young, only eat what they need, and live the way they’re supposed to. Humans are the ones engaging in matricide of our planet.
