True. I watched that and cringed. Enough that the Israeli govt does is worthy of legitimate criticism; lying about what they do is just as bad.
It's all fun and games until you start promoting antisemitic myths, @NBCSNL. Every Israeli citizen—Jewish and Arab, Muslim, Christian, of any or no faith—is eligible to be vaccinated; 2/3 of Israel's Arab citizens over 60 already have been. Apologize.

I was wrong on this one, making a distinction between Israeli citizens versus people in the West Bank and Gaza that I should not have made. Criticisms of Israel on this one are in accordance with international law and I apologize.

He said it was just a guess and I’d guess that too considering it’s a literal apartheid state

I think the issue is moreso israeli control over palestinian vaccine distribution, which is *heavily* unequal. the joke didn't really lie about the situation
The verbal pyrotechnics of delineating "every Israeli citizen"—obscuring Israel's designation of millions of human beings under its control as "non-citizens"—is how to speak Apartheid.

Is it the right move to make this about semantics of citizenship when it comes to the settler colonial relationship of Israel and Palestine?

Making a joke about Israel is not as bad as what the Israeli government does, actually

First, it's not anti Semitic to criticize Israel. That part of the critique is wrong. Second, Che mentioned population, which includes occupied areas, even as they are not citizens, which is what ari tries to mention. Israel is stopping occupied areas from getting the vaccine.
