We’re making it all about him, but the deeper issue is what has happened in this country that someone like that would ever be elected a US Senator. It’s not as funny or disgusting as it is painful.

So true. It’s struck me so often recently that behind all of these elected person’s ‘blunders’ are voters. Something is seriously wrong.

oh get off your high horse. Like Cruz is even in the top 50 of awful Senators in American history

Unfortunately, over the years most politicians are just so awful, career-wise and personally. There are exceptions but they aren’t the majority.

No, it's pretty disgusting. Even more disgusting is the people of TX will turn a blind eye and vote him back into office.

Why do you think this is new? America has a long history of electing selfish crooks to congress. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o…

Dems or Reps no longer matters if they don’t help the people. GW warned us about political parties. People have lost their civic duty to their country. They don’t know how to resist anymore or bring collective pressure to our politicians and government. So we deserve what we get.

Or someone like “the former guy” would ever be elected President.

Why not. How is this different from the “all I care about is me and mine” that is being perpetuated by everyday Americans. Of course the politicians elected come from that same crop.
