What is being laid bare for all to see is that our humanity must come first. Economic systems are here to serve people, people not here to serve economic systems. Texas state govt put privatization & deregulation before the safety of its citizens; the people now reap the results.

So no privatization, no free choice, and we should forcibly make people participate in the economic system of our choosing? Sorry, that sounds too much like slavery for me to buy in. You have fun pushing that though.

Blah blah blah had Z f...ing dads written a democratic voting system giving the majority its voice things would have been WAY DIFFERENT but as a result elected officials have always protected the rich that now control the government

This was a one in 30 year event. Texas proves deregulation works. Let companies fight for customers. California has rolling blackouts every summer. Fix that. Oh wait, regulated state.

"Economic systems" are the terms we give, typically a postiori, to the fruits of a group of people's economic activities. We create them. It is a mistake to begin a line of reasoning from the premise that any economic system can or ought to be designed to serve us.

This is true, however Texas is a disaster, these ppl need help! Now! Why is Biden not doing everything possible? Get generators in, move them into heated facilities, do something! Get off the Trump train n help ppl. Still no stimulus, failure of leadership both Biden n Congress.

This is a wake up call for the citizens of Texas ... and for the Federal Government ... The Federal Government should ... NOT ... allow Texas to play the games they've been playing ... In the long run ... it WASTES money ... and it KILLS and RUINS people's lives.

This is typical Republican approach. $$$$. If they can privatize everything a lucky few will make a hell of a lot of money.
