This is capitalism completely disconnected from any ethical consideration. Charging people in Texas more for energy right now is morally criminal - especially since they have none! And no, this is not “just the way things are.”

Yes you are 100% correct. This is the ugly side of capitalism. Which the Republican party absolutely loves. The Republican party absolutely loves the old fashion fossil fuel industry. Why?? Because they get a fat paycheck from it. Even though the grid in Texas is literally dead.

Hi from CA. PG&E didn't maintain its equipment, blew up a neighborhood and killed residents in 2010, did nothing, caused more fires, and in 2018 their negligence destroyed Paradise and killed 85. Then they went bankrupt and now we pay more... sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/20…
