I was in the 6th grade and they took our class to Rice University stadium to hear President Kennedy speak. The next day he was killed in Dallas.

My parents were taken in by the JW cult and converted fully when I was 5. There was no voting allowed and we had to be "politically neutral." JW kids don't participate in US school AM nationalism rituals so Mom always had to come in & give a brochure to my teachers explaining why

Oh what a memory on politics in USA?
The 9/11 attacks. The first thing of substance I remember in the following days was a sermon at Renaissance Unity Church in Warren MI, and a down-to-earth pastor named @marwilliamson talked about the attacks in a way that made me feel like someone knew how to handle this.
