The profit motive should have no place in these three areas: 1) healthcare, 2)reporting the news, and 3)the defense industry. Our world would be an infinitely better place if in those three areas profit were removed from the equation.

Nope. We have a publicly funded national television network called CBC up here in Canada & they are blatantly and unabashedly cheerleaders for Liberal governments only. Your PBS is basically the same thing. State funded media always end up on the left end of the spectrum.
