The revolution we need has already begun; it鈥檚 in its infancy but it鈥檚 growing. It鈥檚 a revolution of consciousness: that the way it is is not the way it has to be. And a revolution of heart: that love should guide politics and economics as well as every other aspect of life.

41 of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence were slaveowners. So let鈥檚 not romanticize and whitewash what was always morally fraught.

Slavery was a WORLDWIDE custom in the 18th Century...even so, from BEFORE the beginning of our Republic there was an Abolitionist Movement. The Declaration/Constitution was a Compromise that eventually resulted in EMANCIPATION! Read Jeffferson's Original Document!
