One of the reasons why the protests by India’s farmers is significant is because it represents a repudiation of the corporate model that we initiated in the US. Big Ag has devastated farmers in America and Modi is trying to corporatize it there too. #SupportFarmersEverywhere

Yes and India can’t feed their own people

Are you thinking that if they corporatize it then that will change? That’s the propaganda I’m sure they’re trying to sell, but it isn’t true. Among other things it will further impoverish farmers.

It would be nice if @rihanna supported BlackFarmers in USA. I guess it easier to support a distant crisis. We need support for Reparations in the way @marwilliamson did. Thanks

Yes, I saw Trevor Noah’s piece on it. What they are doing with their small farms is exactly what we should be doing. But we’ve got to break up the factory farms

Mexico too!
"'There are no jobs, & NAFTA forced the price of corn so low that it’s not economically possible to plant a crop anymore,' Dominguez says. 'We come to the U.S. to work because we can’t get a price for our product at home. There’s no alternative.'" US politics ignores this.

Exactly ... Their Government wants to emulate the US ... If big Agriculture takes over farming in India ... what will all these billions of people do? ... 70% of India's rural households are farmers ... with 82% of farms being very small ... Only three (3) acres per farm.
