A $15 minimum wage would lift almost a million people out of poverty. There is something cruel about the fact that it’s even open for discussion.
A $15 min wage would cut 1.4 million jobs and remove 900,000 people from poverty. How could losing jobs eliminate poverty? Those "lost" jobs are actually 2nd jobs needed to make ends meet. 1 good job at $15/hour is better than 2 bad ones at $7.25/hour nbcnews.com/politics/joe-bid…

What I don't understand is why Biden wants to phase in the minimum wage over 5 years ... In 5 years it should be $20 per hour ... these people need a raise NOW!

The more money you make the more you pay in taxes, the more you spend, the more people needed to fill the jobs because the businesses will be busy.. it's a no brainer.

Why wouldn’t you elevate people if you had the power to do so? Sad....

I respect you but hope you don’t assist putting people on the street with this viewpoint. That would be even crueler.

We've let the right use "job" as a universal form of political currency for far too long. It's about as meaningful a measurement as bitcoin.

You should be careful not to accept the talking points of economists and business leaders about minimum wage increases. They rely on theory rather than empirical research. businessinsider.com/the-fed-…

Not being an economist, seems to me that a discussion is more than warranted. I like to know the effect of a currently $24/ hr charge versus a $30/hr charge will have on people in need of in home care that already struggle with the expense and can not afford the hours needed?

Ok, but the way hear it, it's not going to be the full amount until 2025? Really!!

Did you forget the part about eliminating 1.4 million jobs?

I’m torn on this one because I think the actual solution is to actually lift everyone out of poverty by setting UBI at the poverty line. Then it would be better to not have a minimum wage, because employees have actual choice and it opens the door for a broader range of pay.
