A $15 minimum wage would lift almost a million people out of poverty. There is something cruel about the fact that it’s even open for discussion.
A $15 min wage would cut 1.4 million jobs and remove 900,000 people from poverty. How could losing jobs eliminate poverty? Those "lost" jobs are actually 2nd jobs needed to make ends meet. 1 good job at $15/hour is better than 2 bad ones at $7.25/hour nbcnews.com/politics/joe-bid…

Lifting "almost a million" to drop 1.4 million is "cruel" to more people #mathishard

OMB has but their finger on this in a negative way. Many economic studies show no change in UE. Daily Kos has a post on this worth reading.

They wouldn’t need to work multiple jobs

When they talk about raising the min wage to $15 an hour will “lose 1.5 million jobs” why aren’t other things adjusted? This is simple supply and demand. Reduce the supply. Cut H1B visas and stop immigration until wages are sustainable at the former jobs numbers. Not hard
I am all for raising the minimum wage, but it cant just be a number pulled from someone's ass without any nuance. It cant be some populist bullshit. I sense its $15/hr b/c its a nice, round number divisible by 5.

Define poverty, because the federal guidelines are laughable. 2X that amount is still poverty

Why is it that you aren't allowed to discriminate wages by race or gender or sexual orientation (technically anyways), but you are allowed to discriminate by state?

What $15/hr does is cross the statistical measure of poverty. The COL math does not work for families. It's expensive to live in this country, so it should be expensive to do business. #$15NotEnough

900,000 < 1.4 million. Difference of 500,000 gonna get screwed Its simple math

Or the fact that it will have to wait until 2025? Do it now...
