It’s outrageous the way we’re treating our teachers as though their health is expendable and their fear illegitimate. This is the legacy of a misogynistic paradigm where the needs of women and children have been deemed secondary for centuries and longer.

i find your statement sexist to say teachers are all women. also if you "follow the science" you're less likely to get sick from a child in school than in a store shopping or sitting with family.

i think its impossible at this point to ask a politician to be nuanced about anything. They just go straight to identity and fear. Twitter is such an ally to these people

Absolutely true. As a teacher currently working full face to face, I can tell you our fears are ignored as are our pleas for tangible support in the form of -no evaluations this year - no new initiatives (let's go with 2 new instead!).
