I don't agree, you may want to ask those that have had someone murdered in their family how they feel about that.. it's not an eye for an eye, it's more that the person doesn't repeat the same crime again.

Yes. When UK stopped hanging people it was a hangman who campaigned for it as hanging failed as a deterrant when people continue to murder until this day, and sometimes the innocent were put to death. It is not an answer to crime.

Isn’t it time ! 51 years ago I lobbied door to door to gain signatures to stop the death penalty .. and to pay attention to our earth’s resources - both got the electric chair
