I doubt I'll still be alive by the time we as a nation get our collective shit together so I stay pretty apathetic most of the time.

We ARE the nation, and we'll "get our collective shit together" if we *decide* to. I don't mean to get psychoanalytic on you, but you wouldn't be telling me you're apathetic unless you're at least subconsciously looking for someone to try to talk you out of it. Glad to.

We have a good portion of the population that doesn't have the critical thinking skills to realize they're being lied to. On top of that they're getting their confirmation bias from; Fox, OAN & Newsmax that are allowed to legally call themselves news.
