There are millions of sick & elderly people in this country who live alone, have no caretakers to help them now, no money with which to buy food and no way to go get it anyway. There is an invisible strata of immeasurable suffering our system refuses to address although it could.

Put briefly, I'm poor and high risk. I can't go to a cheap store any time I need something. Online shopping costs more. Every time I turn around it seems like I should have bought something else to survive this pandemic

Raising the minimum wage to $15/hr would go a long way for hiring caregivers & workforce development.

This is my friend, he stocks local pantries in our county and also delivers to homes of residents in our area who cannot get out. Also he doesn't require proof of identity, income, residency nor citizenship. facebook.com/Waltek42

Capitalism doesn't give a damn. Isn't that true? It's set up not to. Yet people freak out when you talk about alternative systems.

SSI & SSDI is way below poverty guidelines, can't move bc rental guidelines say 3x income, can't save bc that's penalized even if you had the means. They just want you to die already.

Also the elderly don't have a computer to sign up for vaccinations. I help my mother with issues that require online searches and signing up.
