The collective resources of a country should belong to its people. The public treasury should not just be a slush fund for the rich.

Not necessarily. Greedy people can misuse socialism as well as capitalism; a fairytale version of socialism some people are throwing around isn’t that helpful. It’s not so much socialism versus capitalism as it is institutionalized greed versus institutionalized ethical restraint

This is why we need #Reverse1984 Radical transparency of government and all government employees and politicians. Privacy for the people. If we don’t do this, it’s a matter of years before we are living in a surveillance state like China—with no recourse against corrupt state.
Capitalism is still a terribly flawed ideology

Before computers I would agree that it was a fairytale. But 1 of the easiest things 2 model is economic supply & demand. This is easier 2 do than automation that occurs in manufacturing. We are at the point where billionaires/millionaires serve no purpose other than to do harm.
But it is actually the literal definition of socialism. From the Oxford dictionary... "A political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole."

I'm not sure what "fairytale version of socialism" you are referring to, but it is an undeniable fact that worker-owned co-ops (which are socialistic) are much better for workers (higher pay, better work conditions, benefits, etc) than corporations run by CEO's/shareholders.

Well said ma'am. I often see one side try to say this about other side (done by both sides mind you) but it is the people in control of either system that turn them into the monstrosities they inevitably become.

In other words we need permanent revolution to maintain the socialism ;)

What we need to survive sounds like a fairy tale. A system like indigenous cultures that believes you have to put back in as much as you take. Not sure what to call that but everybody has to win or we’re all gonna lose😭
The Cathedral vs The People.

Focus less on “isms” and more on ending the private debt-based money system.
