The only real way that most people are even capable of making the world a better place is to make themselves a better person, but that is hard, so most people pretend to save the world so that they don’t have to do what they are actually capable of doing to be a better person

Surely applying the same logic leads to "If we're not trying to make the world a worse place then we're contributing to make it better".

Not everything is black and white, there are permutations. Blanket statements don’t help.

Not choosing sides is itself a choice, as William James pointed out.

In this economy ,in this system of oppression, we are all oppressors and also the oppressed. Thinking otherwise is folly.
