Worse, they let Republicans off the hook. Republicans figured they could have their cake (get her off committees) and eat it (protect themselves from pro Trump voter backlash). They were right, and they can even blame the Dems.

It's a tough one...I agree about the hydra stance, but there is also no way that we should be entertaining dangerous conspiracy theorists in key roles in our government.

This was what @RealTimBlack said immediately that he feared with this approach. Better to destroy her rhetorically and strategically. She never wanted to do actual WORK there for any real people that committees would require.
