If Democrats would just come out and say "We'll make sure that those $2,000 checks are in everyone's hands, and we're not making it a lower income level for those who receive it" - then DO it! - they'd cruise to a win in 2022. There is no good economic or political reason not to.

I was going to say, how will a one-time woefully insufficient "stimulus" check propel the Democrats to easy victory in the '22 midterms? But I wholeheartedly agree that making it a monthly payment until life returns to some semblance of normality would likely be a game-changer.
