Why are we talking about lowering stimulus checks for the middle class and poor, but not increasing the tax rate for billionaires?

Because the late great George Carlin was correct, "The government doesn't give a f**k about you."

Why not call those checks 'tax rebates' everybody loves a rebate. Has better melody to hear, 'you're getting money back from government' Easier to swallow for those balking at the amount & to whom after gop tax cut bonus Elizabeth Warren made announcement today re: wealth tax.

Please don鈥檛 short-thrift middle class relying on stimulus (51K-75K doesn鈥檛 mean one does not need help); GOP (who helped 1% with tax cuts far larger than this 1.4K) can鈥檛 change income requirements now after LOSING an election! COVID is raging with new variants!

Our Government at times definitely seem like they loathe poor people. But let the billionaires lose some money and they whine and complain and of course get bailed out. Same with the bankers. It鈥檚 despicable and I wonder why we the people put up with it.
