“White House open to narrowing who qualifies for stimulus checks...” Not okay. It’s not just about how much money people make; it’s also about how little help people have received over the last year. Help people enough to make a difference! washingtonpost.com/us-policy…

$1800 for the last 11 months while there was no federal leadership or help given to cities/states has left Main Street in tatters. Austerity thinking like this is insanity. Absolute hard pass. No.

So true, checks will be dependent on 2019 taxes. This will put many who were furloughed in 2020 outside of the window. I agree some of us don't need it...but 2019 income isn't the way to draw the line.

It’s also about people who had to take big pay cuts to keep their jobs (not reflected in IRS income yet) & also how many people could still lose their jobs as this pandemic drags on. Mail out the checks. People will spend them now or save for future uncertainty.

And some employed people are also helping their unemployed family and friends otherwise you’d probably see a lot more homeless people than you do now.

I would understand if someone in say Billings, Montana makes $100K a year, they might be doing okay. A family making $100K a year in Manhattan is probably hurting pretty bad right now. These numbers are meaningless.

that’s an important step. For as much as we spend to have a governing system it’s reasonable to ask for a better strategy than spray and pray
