How do you survive winter during a pandemic without a place to live, plus money for heat and clothes and food? How does the human dimension of all this get so lost? This is not about economics; it’s about human suffering and we should say so.

It’s economics to the financially comfortable, it’s human suffering to those without comforts. So unnecessary, so cruel. A nightmare for too many. #PeopleFirstNow #DirectCashRelief

US foreign policy is about inflicting human suffering. The people of Yemen would be happy to exchange their circumstances with Americans'. Economics is about reducing human suffering through the creation of goods and services, e.g., food, healthcare, that reduce suffering.

A country with our affluence should be taking care of their people 😥 this is shameful. Most other civilized nations have done this.

If Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Warren Buffet and other billionaires wouldn't be so selfish, they would invest in the construction of mini-houses or mini-apartments for homeless. Some seft contained spaces that they caould call home and where they could live a normal life.

We should. This isn't about economics, this is about ideology, and capitalists put profits above human suffering.

Marianne, I’ve been buying and distributing tarps and blankets to the unhoused in LA. Want to help amplify? My next items are solar lanterns and kits for women.
