Creating complexity where there is none is a way to hide the simple truth: our government is simply more interested in helping the rich than in helping the poor. It’s more than an institutional neglect or disregard; there’s an undeclared war on the poor in America.

I would say less that the government would rather help the rich and instead say the government is ran by the rich. And whatever stability or perceived concession they give the working class is a calculated effort to keep as much power as they can.
