It’s a sign of how far right the country has drifted over last 30 years that so~called moderate Republicans can be openly contemptuous of the poor without blowback and Dems are the ones offering largely rhetorical support without feeling the need to make any strong policy push.

For corporatists like her, moderate is a synonym for “I hate poor people”.
