So many people either don't remember this, or never knew it. This facilitated our nation's decline into greed and the backwards slide into ignorance and hate. This is when we (99%) really began to lose our standard of living compared to the rest of the 1st world.
Happening everywhere, the age of NeoLiberalism. It was hailed as the new awakening a novo renaissance but has ended in a nightmare for the vast majority of us. The UK has virtually returned a Dickensian society. One of your compatriots, Chris Hedges, has plenty to say about it.
