We’re fighting for a $2000 one time payment, and even that is essentially crumbs. It should have been $2000 a month from the beginning of the pandemic, lasting through the end of it. No other advanced country has seen its people so systematically neglected during the pandemic.

I'll say it again: it was a POLICY FAILURE to tie the $600/week UI SUPPLEMENTAL payment to unemployment. 1. Leaves out INELIGIBLE people, 2. Punishes you for taking a job. 3. Stimulus checks are Tax FREE, UI isn't. 4. State UI delays payments for months mobile.twitter.com/peterdaou…
ENOUGH BULLSHIT If Dems, with full majorities, can't muster a one-time $2,000 check to people struggling and dying in a pandemic... WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY GOOD FOR?

How is your last sentence true? US had one of the largest covid responses, and is one of the only countries that did any direct payments.

America is an oligarchy. America's owners are not interested in us having $2000 or even the country itself. They're interested in extracting every last dollar out of a dying system. Then they can just move on to a private island or find another economy to plunder. So, yeah... :/

I'm not sure who they think they are helping with such a low amount. In my area rent is atleast 1,600 a month.

2000 a month from where? Are you just telling our future generations to go to hell? I hope you have some idea of national debt?

I totally agree, but isn’t this just an aesthetic argument? I just looked it up, in CA you can currently get >$1800 for PUA and it was >$3000 a month for a lot of 2020
