Warren's #WealthTax plan calls for 2% over $500M, 1% more for over $1 billion. No one at that level of wealth would see any difference whatsoever in their lifestyle, but millions of people would see a fundamental difference in their lives based on what we could do with the money.

Correction: her plan is for 2% over $50M, not $500M.

Thankfully, a federal wealth tax that is not apportioned among the states according to population requires a constitutional amendment. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Income…

I still believe we should go back to the tax rates of the 60s when our schools and highways were the best in the world and we were able to go to the moon.pbs.org/newshour/nation/toda…

Well with Sanders being Budget Committee Chair, I think he can accept this, of course Expect 40 to 45 GOPers to Reject this and still say the US Military should Enlist More people instead and keep those Millionaires & Billionaires Tax Free.

#MMT makes the idea that we need to tax to pay for basic programs obsolete. It's just a continuation of the punitive tax policy but in reverse. I'd love to punitive the F out of the rich, but we can't make our argument for funding basic human needs via fiat currency TAXATION.

If you earned/made 500 million hamburgers and then some hungry people knocked on your door, you'd gladly let them eat. Why? Because you, your family, and your descendants could never eat 500M hamburgers- not in 100 years. You'd never miss 50M 🍔. (now pretend it's dollars) 🧐

Sure, but since Warren is "capitalist to her bones" and defends short sellers maybe she should let someone else carry the ball.

Her plan is a joke compared to the superior wealth tax plan that was proposed in the 2020 primary

2% of 500M us the same amount as 1% of 1B. I would've done 1% of 500M and 2% of 1B... but I'm not a 🐍
