How is any of what Robinhood, TD Ameritrade, and others doing even remotely legal?

It's 100% market manipulation and they'll 100% get away with it.

They’ll get away with it in the short term but they won’t get away with it in the long term. This is a questionable move and it will not go down well.

Problem is, a lot of people have lost a lot of money right now. An Investigation months from now does nothing to make the Average Joe/Jane whole. They literally guaranteed losses for many of their customers. They did it in 2008, and they’re doing it now.

The working class people who would prevail without top-down cheating and manipulation can’t wait for a long term solution, and quite frankly at this juncture, I’m not sure they should.

If the state doesn't step in, this will be yet another failed litmus test for observing how weakened by neoliberalism the government is to protect us from predatory market activity.

When haven't they got away with it?
Sorry Marianne, but halting trading on certain securities is not an uncommon practice, they absolutely will get away with it.
It wasn’t questionable at all, they knew/know what they are doing. The fines won’t be more than the loss they are protecting, that’s the problem.

The banks got away with it 10 years ago, leaving the working class holding the bag for their wrong doings. Nothing will happen except a rule change to keep people from rising up.
