Science is objective. Medicine is objective. But economics is not objective. Whatever economists are telling @JoeBiden to go slow on those $2k checks is giving him information they might think makes economic sense but it doesn’t make humanitarian, political or psychological sense

"Go slow on those 2k checks..." As if Biden isn't looking for every way he can to go back to the 600 he was at before TRUMP forced Biden's hand by declaring he was for 2k. Without Trump every Dem would be telling us 600 was good enough and congratulating themselves for it.

Actually...economics is and can be objective. It would be wise to remake this criticism

Going slow will increase the PTSD we suffer as Americans in this crises. That will be a cost we will all have to pay for for many years. It has to figured into any decisions or a bad decision is likely to be made. It is one of the most important variables.

I have no doubt you'll agree with me that we need to redefine "economic sense".

It doesn't make economic sense though.

It results from the unfortunate mixing of positive and normative in economics. Economists should really be giving information on empirical, objective phenomena. They've no business passing on their personal ethical or normative views about what they think makes "economic sense."

Give it time people Biden just got in office. Cool down. We'll get the money. He promised it and he will deliver. Biden inherited a mess. He's got a lot of cleaning to do.
