Science is objective. Medicine is objective. But economics is not objective. Whatever economists are telling @JoeBiden to go slow on those $2k checks is giving him information they might think makes economic sense but it doesn’t make humanitarian, political or psychological sense

It also doesn't make economic sense. Money given to the poor still ends up in the hands of the very, very rich. It just passed through the hands of the poor, working class, and middle class for a few moments.

Yes. Many breakthrough economists (many of them women) consider a wider range of externalities that are often ignored in traditional economic theory and they would agree with Marianne.

Neither science nor medicine are objective. They are all implemented by scientists and medics, who are individuals with their own biases and views. Economics is inherently laden with moral values - 'to whom should this money go?' No amount of mathematics will tell you that.
