Correct.
Imagine how much better our nation would be if the minimum wage were $23. If the minimum wage had grown at the rate of productivity since 1960, it would be $23. You know what’s extreme? That the minimum wage is only $7.25 and working people are getting screwed.

Humbly, going minimum wage rates west of I-5 in CA are already > $25. Minimum $15 is a moot issue. But please go ahead the lower the floor, please, please.

I want workers to earn more, but I also worry about small businesses that are struggling badly. They'd have to cut hours, let employees go, transition faster to automation in some cases. Raising wages faster than many businesses can sustain could cause many job losses

We don't even have the $15 we've been calling for since the primaries yet, and disingenuous "leftists" are already trying to burn this bridge. F*cking Krist. This immediate goalpost moving shit is what makes leftism unpalatable to centrists/libs.

An increase in min wage is necessary to soften the blow from additional employee taxes to cover things like mandatory health insurance so ppl will see smaller net income along with a higher cost of living, fewer hours, and fewer employees. bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…

Hey @BernieSanders, have you mentioned yet that 2021 has many hundreds of state and local elections and that filing periods are here for potential candidates to run? Have you encouraged your audience to consider running? This ought to be a very exciting time for that!

My 17 year old wouldn't work for $7.25, and he has NO bills. He negotiated $9.25 - and that's still not enough. He has work experience, superb attendance, and more common sense than some adults. IMAGINE if he had to live off this...

Should be $50 or $100 an hour. Need to afford eggs and a ham loaf. Then everybody will be given a job.

Not much different to be honest, the workers would still be exploited by the bosses who steal 60-95% of the value our labor produces.
