Psaki as @PressSec rationalizes whatever Biden does, like ignoring his own executive order to wear masks on federal land. The job, since before Trump, is to spread government propaganda. Reporters need to be skeptical/adversarial under all admins.

I like @PressSec Jen Psaki. Good to see a WH press secretary doing the job of WH Press Secretary as opposed to just doing PR for the Great Leader.

Fair enough; it's easy to say reporters should be skeptical. What I object to is the framing: "the job of WH Press Secretary as opposed to just doing PR" for the President. I'm saying: that's literally the job. There is no "opposed to" when the 2 things are the same.

WH @PressSec propagates PR to justify whatever the President does. They can be rude, with laughable lies. They can be polite, with deft distortions. Problem with polite: reporters forget whose side they're on. Already forgetting to be adversarial.

I know. The ice cream stuff is really awful. But still, if you look at the way she answers questions versus the way Sean or Sarah or Kaleigh did, there is a world of difference and I don’t mind acknowledging her for it.
