This should be read by Anthony Hopkins with a horror movie soundtrack in the background and a “Heh heh heh heh” sort of cackle at the end.
I’m glad that two Senate Democrats confirmed today they will not vote to end the legislative filibuster. They agree with President Biden and me on protecting the Senate.   With this win, we can move forward with a 50-50 power-sharing agreement built on the 2001 precedent.

"power-sharing" is just code for "they're going to sell out to Republicans."

Sounds like common sense if you ask me. We should go slow when destroying our institutions are concerned.

Sad but not surprising

I think every Senate should operate under the traditional 50-50 power sharing agreements with the filibuster unless one party has a supermajority. I also think this should apply to the House. It gives both parties almost equal voice in committees with majority party have an edge.

Why cant you just tell everyone that its just one party.

Why can't we be sane and just fight for the reinstatement of the rule that a Senator must physically hold the floor to perform a filibuster? So that a filibuster becomes, once again, a way to make a principled stand on a particular vote (i.e. to stall rather than to block).

"Former President Barack Obama called on Thursday for ... Eliminating the Filibuster ... joining a chorus of Democrats who portray the Senate’s signature procedural weapon as an obstacle to social progress that must be abolished if the party captures the Senate and White House."

This is very true 😅
