The American people are so much more progressive than their government. A strong disconnect between what people say they want and what government is willing to give them is directly attributable to the influence of dark money on our politics. Corporations rule; we must undo this.

That's the rub isn't it? there are things both sides could agree on, but a corrupt and inefficient government is in the middle. Good argument for a smaller federal government.

Each time these no brainer issues, that are at a minimum of what each American should expect, are brought to the table I become so hopeful only to feel duped in the end. You're correct, it's all about the $.
