This is the absolute truth. And being bold will require doing more than just rescuing people from immediate economic despair; it will require fundamentally altering the system so it’s no longer rigged against them.
In 1994, Democrats in power lost big because they were not bold. In 2010, it happened again. If we do not take aggressive action NOW to protect working families, it will happen in 2022.

I understand it wasn't single payer, but I can't help but bristle at the idea that universal healthcare wasn't bold. Dems lost big in 2010 because voting for Obama in 2008 was more of a vanity stunt for too many people than it was an effort to move the liberal agenda forward.

Why, Marianne, did you run instead of throwing all of your support behind Bernie a year ago?

Eliminate filibuster or use reconciliation or dems lose, as succinct as you can get

Bernie always speaks the truth. The problem is people don’t want to hear the truth. They want lies and platitudes

It happens EVERY off year cycle to both Rs & Ds except in 2002 which was a very special circumstance.

Talk of "fundamentally altering the system" from folk like you is understandably scary to a lot of people.
