People say they’re worried that giving too much money to the poor will make them lazy and entitled. Why aren’t we worried that giving too much money to the rich will make them arrogant and delusional?

I agree with Marianne. It seems to me many people are paradoxically stuck between actions based on Economics, and actions based on Humanity. When practiced and fully understood, it's crystal clear that actions based on Humanity benefit everyone and boost the Economy.

I do not have the data, and yet I know there are many Americans who studied and earned degrees and worked towards an earned future. Many of them are underpaid, underemployed, or entrepreneurs. Many of them are invested in service above self. Money is a man-made necessity.
