That's definitely possible. To me, it's also possible that it was narrative that forced people onto the defensive, rather than one that would empower everyone to start abandoning maladaptive behaviors. Just my 2¢.

I think we, as a society and culture, need to re-evaluate the stigma of mental health and normalize it. To be clear, I'm saying this prompted by your mention of "mass psychosis". I feel like there are a lot of sociopaths in leadership.
