The best argument for raising the minimum wage to $15 comes from @JoeBiden: No American who works 40 hours a week should live in poverty.

So how do you propose the small business pay for that??? I know pass it on to the consumer. There by cause decreased discretionary money thereby less spending. Holy crap. As my gas prices go up. Eating out goes down.
That’s literally a Bernie quote. Glad to see Biden adopt it

That figures, when a living wage is closer to $25 right now. Your friend Joe thinks we can hold out on $15 until 2026. Bernie is the president this country needs right now.

15 may have sufficed 10 years ago I would argue $20 should be the new amount to keep up with the increase of inflation Keep in mind corporations loophole Only give them 20/30 hours a week. Like a living wage the 40 hour week is a thing of the past.

People should earn, at minimum, the equivalent of 15 an hour, but this should be accomplished via UBI as an effective increase to everyone's wage. Increased minimum wage still ignores work that doesn't pay, like elder care, parenting, volunteering, and activism.

I'm guessing the word, "originally" wasn't implied. At least I hope not.

$15 is still poverty where I live. Nothing is going to change our level of poverty until we address why 3 people have more wealth than the bottom 50% of the country. That is the problem that needs to be addressed but nobody in Congress is talking about.

That's actually a horrible argument for raising the minimum wage. That's a good argument for UBI though.
Wasn't that originally from Bernie? Joe is great at coopting Bernie's language. The difference being is Joe doesn't actually mean it

$15 is still poverty. And per usual they ALWAYS leave a loophole for employers to screw you. In this case only 40hr (full time) workers are eligible? Which just means they are going switch to part time or gig workers. And we'll basically have nation wide prop 22 🙄
