Looking at the footage of the Jan. 6 riot, it's unbelievable that it took hours before DC's National Guard arrived. Trying to wrap my head around it.

It's not that hard for me to understand that the mils didn't want to get involved with what was billed as a "political" rally, and didn't want to be blamed - again - for taking sides in a political argument between blacks and whites.... More coming....

And it's very easy for me to believe that Trump and the seditionists had allies in both law enforcement and the military. They just didn't expect a full on attack on the Capitol, same as they didn't imagine that 19 guys from Al Qaeda would fly planes, like bombs, into the WTC.

The fix was in - Capitol police eschewed National Guard until it got out of hand. Also did not plug in FBI. Probably coordinated by Trump's new Pentagon appointees.

This might explain it. As the District of Columbia is a federal district and not a state, the guard is placed under the authority of the President of the United States, unlike most other National Guard units which are headed by their state's governor.

They were in on it...the way Bush was at a kindergarten class when 9-11 happened...

Well, if they'd arrived any sooner and stopped the protests/riot, it wouldn't have given the oh, so concerned Democrats the opportunity to be righteously angry and upset like they were, would it?

Everyone who wants transparency should support @JamaalBowmanNY ‘a legislation to look into why the response to the attempted insurrection was the way it was, poorly.
