Looking at the footage of the Jan. 6 riot, it's unbelievable that it took hours before DC's National Guard arrived. Trying to wrap my head around it.

Why has everyone forgotten that the whole elaborate DC security apparatus KNEW WEEKS IN ADVANCE that this demonstration of scores of thousands of very upset people was going to take place on that day? They KNEW, and DID NOTHING?! Can anyone seriously believe that?

Likely because people spent so much time trying to get Trump to call the guard, since it is his responsibility. I understand Pence finally did after being forced to hide with the Senate.
