Looking at the footage of the Jan. 6 riot, it's unbelievable that it took hours before DC's National Guard arrived. Trying to wrap my head around it.

It was no accident that it took so long, nor was it an accident that so few Capitol police were defending building to begin with. Mistakes this big just don't 'happen.' Someone near top of Govt. tinkered with how things are done on Capitol security. @FBI is investigating.

2/ I suspect the real answer might be less about conspiracy and more about "the boss got angry with us after we used tear gas on the protesters." So the military was waiting for Trump to give the green light and he didn't. (because he was thrilled it was happening.)
