It’s radical to put humanity’s safety & well-being before corporate dollars. Its radical to make eradicating unnecessary suffering a stated policy goal. It’s radical to make cultivating peace the center of public policy. That’s exactly what we need now: a radical humanitarianism.

It's the deficiency and neglect of *caritas*, which is also a feature of the culture of narcissism. A deficiency of caritas has always resulted in a withering from within of ages and civilisations. Today, what was once called "caritas" is disguised in the term "TLC".
