You know how many counselors we have in our public schools? One for every 1500 children. You know how many chronically traumatized children we have in America? Tens of millions. You know how many billionaires we have in America? 635. And none of that is by accident.

I am a high school counselor and I was unaware of this incredible stat. We know the profession is undervalued until you’re the one that needs it. Thank you for the reality check- we get caught up in our work and haven’t time to focus on much else.

Most school counselors I’m aware of have a primary focus on academic achievement. There have been in roads in providing more therapeautic midaluties across the board. But I’m sure support & funding severely lags
