As a former traumatized child, I would never have reached out to a school counselor. Someone would have had to reach me and broken through. It'll take a bigger shift than throwing more people and more money at systems that haven't been working. But maybe as an interim effort

My counselor was evil. I wish there would have been another person I could have talked to. I really wonder sometimes how much different my life would be now if I had someone to talk to
