Poverty isn’t just financial hardship; it’s psychological & emotional trauma that increases the probability of violence, addiction & even death by despair. It’s a petri dish out of which emerges the worst kinds of societal dysfunction. Our goal should be its complete eradication.

You're running again in 2024 right??
Poverty can also create a resilience, strength and determination not found in those who have not suffered from it. Poverty should not be used as a excuse for self-destruction, but do agree that everyone should be given the opportunity to overcome it. Eradication is the goal.

Keep dreaming Marianne. Even countries with low poverty have poverty. Poor would not exist without rich and vice versa. The only thing I know of that would attempt to equalize everyone financially is communism. I went to Cuba. The idea looks good on paper but sucks in reality.

Yes ma'am! Amen to this poverty is so much more than not having enough money. Money is a tool, money is energy it doesn't make you rich.

Only the implementation of basic income will provide an opportunity to reduce social tension, eliminate social inequality, ensure equal rights for citizens, reduce poverty level and corruption in the country.
